September 9
Ingathering Water Ceremony

Everyone meets upstairs and during the service families bring a tiny bit of water reminiscent of their summer experience. As they pour it into the community bowl they share their stories. The water can come from a lake, a river, or the sprinkler in your backyard.

Thanksgiving Sunday Family Service

Our Sunday of giving thanks is a family service where all join together in the main hall. A childcare centre will be provided at the back of the hall with colouring activities & play-dough.

October 14
Foodpath

The kids in grades 3 and up will visit our local food bank to learn how it works and help out. We would like you to donate a bag of food using one of the bags available during the service the week before.

October 27 (Saturday 7pm)
Halloween Costume Party

The crystal ball says... from 7 to 9 pm the church will be alive with strange (and not so strange) creatures. They will play games and be rewarded with treats. The very brave will even explore a haunted barn! The evening program winds down with the meaningful Samhain ritual where children remember those who have died and ring a bell for new life.

Litter-not
All classes except the Nursery join in this social action event during the service to help clean up Mary Fix Park, a nearby wooded park. Boots appropriate clothing is highly recommended. Childcare will be provided for the Nursery kids.

December 16
Intergenerational Service

Start your Christmas season with the warmth of this special service where all join together in the main hall. During the service, we will all make simple decorations to trim the tree. You are invited to bring items for the “Giving Tree” to be donated to the Peel Children’s Aid Society (The list of suggested items will be in your newsletter.)

Festive Feast - 5:30pm
Join us this evening for turkey and all the trimmings. Entertainment, too

Winter Solstice Service

Although not an S.E. sponsored event, families are encouraged to share in the rituals of this ceremony that touches our spiritual selves. It has become a special time of peace for many of our families.

December 24 - 5:30pm
Christmas Eve Service

This early evening service brings a peaceful magic to the joyous anticipation of Christmas Eve. Join us to sing amidst the candle glow. Refreshments will be served.

No Spiritual Exploration Classes

January 13
Mystery Friends begins

Come and participate in this fun program between the older and younger members of the church. Each child choosing to be involved becomes the mystery friend of an adult in the congregation. They communicate anonymously through notes, poems, and simple gifts. Participants submit their names on the 13th and receive their mystery identity on the 20th. The mystery friends will be revealed at a delicious box lunch get together on February 17th, after the service.

February 4 (Sunday 11:30 on)
Jump for Friendship

Kids and parents take off to the Trampoline Centre for an hour of high jumps and soft landings, (it's supposed to be excellent for the lymphatic system!) Parents have fun watching and connecting with other parents. Afterwards a delicious lunch is served in the Party Room

Intergenerational Service

Everyone joins together in the main hall to participate in a special service designed to be meaningful to all ages. We will build community by reading, singing and sharing with each other.

Mystery Friends Lunch

After the service the secrets all come out! Bring a lunch for your mystery friend and find out whom all those treats and letters have been coming from. Desserts & drinks will be provided.

February 24 noontime
Samosas and Saris

The whole congregation is invited to stay for lunch put on by the SE Committee to support Child Haven International, a Unitarian outreach program in India. Our children will be learning about this program in their classes.

March 23
Easter Sunday Family Service

A Sunday of celebrating the rebirth of our world and ourselves is a family service where all join together. A childcare centre will be provided at the back of the hall with colouring activities.

Year-end Picnic and BBQ

All are welcome at our Sunday school year-end party. Join us after church for a hot dog and cool slice of watermelon. There will be games and prizes for the children.
